This policy applies to the web game “Maze of Memory” and to the Android and iOS apps of the same name. The apps embed the same content as the web version.
The game has no sign-up and does not collect directly identifying information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
Game state (stage records, gold, seed, chosen language, mute setting) is stored only in your browser's or app's local storage and is never sent to a server. Deleting the app or clearing site data removes it.
Progress save (save code): under a random 8-character code generated by your device, your stage records, gold, Daily Maze streak, best Endless floor and codex are stored in Firebase (Cloud Firestore). The code contains no personal data and only someone who knows it can read it. Entering the code on another device restores your progress. To delete it, contact us below with your code.
The game shows rewarded ads and interstitial ads through Google AdMob. Rewarded ads play only when you choose to watch one; interstitials appear only at transition points such as clearing a stage or a game over.
To serve ads, Google and its partners may process device identifiers (Android Advertising ID, iOS IDFA), device and browser information, approximate (country-level, IP-based) location, and ad interaction history. See the Google Ads policy for details.
If you have not consented, or have withdrawn consent, only non-personalized ads are shown. Non-personalized ads may still use device information for limited purposes such as frequency capping.
In regions where consent is required — the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and others — a consent form is presented on first launch through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP).
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time. Choose “Ad Privacy Settings” on the start screen to reopen the same form. That entry appears only in regions where consent is required.
On iOS 14 and later the app separately requests App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission. You can use every feature of the game whether or not you allow it; if you decline, ads are shown in a non-personalized form. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
You can also turn off personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings.
Only if you use the online leaderboard, the following is stored via Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication): your nickname (optional; “Anonymous” if left blank), your score (move count and elapsed time), the stage number, an anonymous user identifier (UID), and the time of the record.
Only anonymous authentication is used, so no email address, password, or account name is collected. The name shown on the leaderboard is the nickname you type yourself; leave it blank and it shows as “Anonymous”. Stored records are used solely to display rankings.
Anonymized traffic statistics may be aggregated by the hosting provider (Firebase Hosting). They do not identify individuals.
To learn where the game is too hard, we collect game events with Google Analytics for Firebase (stage start/clear/fail, whether an ad was watched, Daily Maze clears). No user input such as nicknames or scores is sent. Google processes an app-instance identifier and coarse device/region data alongside these events. If you decline tracking on iOS, the advertising identifier is not used.
This game is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child's information has been collected, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your information (GDPR, CCPA and similar laws). Because the game does not directly collect identifying information, most requests are satisfied by withdrawing consent as described in section 4 and clearing your device storage. To have a leaderboard record deleted, contact us.
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date on this page is revised. Material changes are also announced inside the app.
